Attachment overview

Attachments greatly expand the capabilities of any walk-behind tractor, and Khoper is no exception. Next is a more detailed overview of attachments suitable for working with any Khoper walk-behind tractors.

Attachments from Neva, Cascade, Salyut, Ugra, Oka, MTZ, Belarus and other domestic brands are also suitable for them. Khopers are also aggregated with the majority of Chinese hinged ones, since everything is made according to the standard “for Russian” mount.

Mowers

With the Khoper motoblock, you can use rotary, segment, finger mowers from manufacturers such as Volodar, Yarilo, MTZ, Belarus, as well as Chinese, Polish, German-made mowers. The most budgetary and popular option among farmers is the Zarya type rotary mower.

Adapter

The adapter is one of the most popular devices for walk-behind tractors, especially for heavy ones. It is the adapter that turns an ordinary agricultural unit into a universal vehicle. It is recommended to use adapters with the following parameters: for heavy walk-behind tractors with a load capacity of up to 1000 kg, for light and medium walk-behind tractors - up to 500 kg. Manufacturer - any (subject to the availability of a universal hitch).

The function of the adapter can also be performed by a trailer with a seat, homemade or ready-made. Dump trailers are recommended only for use on heavy walk-behind tractors weighing more than 100-120 kg.

Cutter - design and assembly

The cutter is an important working element for a walk-behind tractor. With the help of a cutter, soil cultivation is carried out. The assembly process of the cutters is described in the instructions for the walk-behind tractor. You can also familiarize yourself with the correct position of the cutters in the assembly by considering the diagram below. The principle of assembling cutters is the same for most walk-behind tractors. The one-piece rotator with direct connection to the PTO is sold already assembled.

Wheels

All Khoper walk-behind tractors are equipped with pneumatic wheels, wide and embossed. Comfortable wheels, the size of which is ideally correlated with the weight and dimensions of the walk-behind tractor, is one of the advantages of the Khoper. Standard wheel sizes: 4.00-8, 6.00-12. If desired, you can install larger wheels than on your walk-behind tractor model, if the technological design allows this.

Lugs

Grousers of various diameters can be purchased both separately and in sets - special sets of attachments. Such kits usually include a pair of lugs, hillers, a plow, axle extensions and fasteners. The cost of the kit starts from 20 thousand rubles.

Plow

For motoblocks "Khoper" weighing up to 100 kg. it is recommended to use a classic single-hull plow of the "Mole" type or another model - from Chinese, Russian, Belarusian manufacturers. For motoblocks weighing more than 120 kg. you can install a double-furrow plow, a reversible plow, a plow with a share. Producers: Krot, MTZ and others.

Snow blower and plow

The standard size of a shovel-dump suitable for the Khoper walk-behind tractor: from 1 to 1,5 meters. Shovels can be ordinary metal or with a rubber lining along the bottom edge. They are mainly used to clear the area from snow. Manufacturers: TM Yarilo, TM Solnyshko, TM Volodar, MTZ, Belarus and others.

Potato digger and potato planter

Types of potato diggers: universal "Mole" with a classic mount; rough, frictional. For Khoper motoblocks, you can use any type of potato digger, both under the PTO and conventional, bolted.

Types of potato planters: belt, chain and others. Models: APK-3, KS-02P, KSM-2b, KS-02.

Instructions for use, maintenance

Study the instructions for the walk-behind tractor, this document will allow you, as the owner, to understand how to operate the device with full efficiency and safely for your health. Do not allow children and adolescents to operate the walk-behind tractor. Use protective gloves when assembling and handling cutters.

What oil and fuel to use

Oil: according to the season, mineral oil in summer, synthetic oil in winter. Oil type: for four-stroke diesel/petrol engines, e.g. SAE 30.

Fuel: gasoline AI-82, AI-92, AI-95 or diesel fuel of any brand.

First start-up and running-in

The first start-up of the walk-behind tractor is carried out according to the instructions: if the machine is assembled and ready to work, you can start the engine by letting the walk-behind tractor run for some time without load. Approximately 20 engine hours should elapse from the moment of the first start up to the complete running-in of the engine and gearbox.

Run-in in stages: 15 minutes of idling, the next few days - work at 1/3 of the maximum engine power, the next week - work at 2/3 of the engine power. The run-in is considered completed after 20 hours and the walk-behind tractor can be operated after this stage with all types of attachments, with an adapter. After running in, it is also allowed to process virgin soil, transport heavy loads.

Major faults

Malfunctions are inevitable in the operation of any walk-behind tractor. Next, we will consider the main types of malfunctions in the Khopers and possible ways to fix them on our own. If the malfunction is serious and your knowledge is not enough to eliminate it, contact a specialized repair center or service (with a valid warranty).

Reducer

The main problems with the gearbox and how to fix them:

  • noise in the gearbox (check the oil mark, top up; do not use poor quality oil);
  • oil leak from the gearbox (check the condition of the seals, eliminate the gap, adjust the oil level, filling it up to the norm, but not higher than the mark on the neck).

Clutch

The main problems with the clutch on the Hopper:

  • clutch slipping (check and replace worn springs and discs);
  • gears are hard to switch (disassemble the gearbox, grind the gear teeth, replace worn parts);
  • the clutch does not completely disengage (the friction discs may be deformed, replace them, fill the crankcase with fresh oil);
  • the walk-behind tractor does not start (perhaps it's the air temperature - it's too cold. In this case, try to start the walk-behind tractor at a positive temperature, for example, in a garage, and then take it out to work in the yard).

Other faults

Other faults include:

  • increased vibration during operation;
  • smoke of various colors when the engine is running.

Such problems are most often caused by improper adjustment of the outboard (vibration), as well as poor-quality fuel and oil out of season, oil leakage. Before operation, make sure that the walk-behind tractor is in good condition and ready for work.

Owner feedback

Victor:

“I bought my Hopper 900 three years ago, in the spring.

Advantages: you can afford to buy without any special infringement of the budget, relatively inexpensive, saves energy, plows in your own way from the heart, very simple operation, assembly, configuration, etc.

Disadvantages: drive belts are frayed (the problem of all walk-behind tractors with belts). I have only replaced it once so far.

Think well before purchasing a walk-behind tractor, no matter what model. But know that it is needed in several cases: with a large plot, if there are few workers in the family, if the soil dries out to varying degrees, the walk-behind tractor will be difficult to use, you need to wait until the entire garden dries out. Hopper is satisfied, I recommend. We don’t save much on fuel, that’s why we took the petrol version.”

Nikolai:

“I use diesel Hopper 5d series 1000. Why diesel? Because I have long been accustomed to the fact that such a technique is trouble-free. Yes, he has a capacity of 5 horses, but more is not needed for a plot of 6 acres.

Advantages: small, compact, maneuverable, fast!

Cons: No cons for me.

Period of use: 2,5 years.
