KAMAZ-6560: SUV with increased payload
Initially, the KamAZ-6560 chassis was developed for the transportation of the Pantsir 1 anti-aircraft missile system. The presentation of the truck tractor took place in 2005, its production continues to this day. On the basis of the chassis, a flatbed truck was created for transporting soldiers and officers, as well as the Tornado combat vehicle was built, installed on the platform and other civil and military superstructures.
KAMAZ-6560 is a frame four-axle truck with an 8 * 8 wheel formula, a front engine and an all-metal cabover cab. The peculiarities of the all-terrain vehicle include the fact that the driver's door is located quite high above the ground (about 2 meters) and it is not so easy to get into it.
The salon is equipped with three armchairs and a berth, some modifications have a sunroof. The driver's seat has a number of adjustments, which does not prevent drivers from complaining about quite strong shaking. The restyled modification KamAZ-6560 received a modern three-section panel made of plastic.
Today, the car is produced in two versions: KAMAZ-6560-3198-43 - a chassis for installing specialized equipment, including crane equipment, and KAMAZ-6560-6610-43 - a classic flatbed truck.
Due to its specialization, this car is quite difficult to buy; in a new condition, its cost starts from 8 million rubles.

Engine and fuel consumption KAMAZ-6560
Most modifications of the car are equipped with a domestic KamAZ-740.50-400 engine. This eight-cylinder unit has a V-shaped arrangement of cylinders, a turbocharging function and a charge air cooling system. The working volume of the turbodiesel is 11,76 liters with a rated power of 400 horsepower at 1 rpm. In cars of the last years of production, a Common Rail injection system with forced two-stage injection of diesel fuel is installed. Quite often, these power units use a fuel system from Bosh. The KAMAZ 900-740.50 engine complies with Euro 400 standards in terms of environmental parameters.
KamAZ-6560 can hardly be called an economical car, depending on the season and operating conditions, a serviceable truck consumes from 48 to 54 liters of diesel fuel. As a result, the designers had to install two large fuel tanks, with a total volume of 700 liters.
Transmission, brakes and electrical equipment KAMAZ-6560
The KamAZ-6560 truck line is equipped with two types of sixteen-speed manual gearboxes: ZF 16 S1820 and ZF 16 S1822. Both boxes have proven themselves well not only on KamAZ vehicles, but also on imported truck tractors. In terms of their parameters, they are quite similar (the difference lies in the gear ratio of the main gear: 6,33 / 6,88). Also, the all-terrain vehicle is equipped with a two-stage transfer case of the German company Steyr - VG2000 / 300, which provides excellent traction characteristics of the vehicle when driving in high mountains or off-road.
The car is equipped with a ZF&SACHS MFZ 430 single-plate diaphragm clutch. For greater driving comfort, a hydraulic drive and pneumatic booster are installed here.
KAMAZ-6560 is equipped with several brake systems, the main brakes are drum-type with pneumatic drive and booster. The diameter of the brake drums is 420 mm, the width of the brake pads is 180 mm.
The electrical systems of KAMAZ-6560 are powered by two 12-volt batteries with a total capacity of 380 Ah. In addition, a voltage converter (12 - 24 volts) and a two-kilowatt 28-volt generator are installed here.

I had a chance to ride a KamAZ-6560 during a test drive. The car is very unusual. Although I have experience driving Kamaz trucks, I did not adapt right away. The main problem is the blind spot in front, which arises from the impressive height at which the driver is located. The cabin is quite comfortable: the steering column and the driver's seat are adjustable, the car moves confidently on the road, good handling, quickly picks up speed.
